After Thanksgiving comes to a close, everyone seems to get all excited about Christmas. And I get it. Christmas is really great. But, in all the holiday hoopla, people seem to forget that Christmas is not the only holiday celebrated this time of year.
Hanukkah seems to get lost somewhere between the festive garlands and the nativity scenes popping up all over my neighborhood. Which, in all honesty, is a shame, because Hanukkah really has a lot to offer.
For example, Latkes. I mean, who doesn't like a potato pancake smothered in sour cream? It is probably one of my favorite foods. Like ever.
So this year, I decided to make a Hanukkah cake. I used one of the most traditional Hanukkah symbols, the menorah, and gave it a modern twist. And more importantly, I did what I do best - I made it edible.
A simple Vanilla Vanilla Cake topped with a fun fondant menorah. Basically, it is the perfect ending to any Hanukkah meal. Especially if that meal involves latkes. happy Hanukkah to all the Jews out there!
