Flowers and cakes have always seemed like a natural pair for me. And if you search for wedding cakes on Pinterest, I think you will see that most of the world agrees.
But there is always the debate between real flowers are sugar flowers. Real flowers have the inconvenience of being a seasonal commodity, and tend to wilt if they are not kept under the proper conditions. And while sugar flowers can withstand high temperatures and be crafted into any color you like - they can also look very artificial.
Ultimately, it comes down to a personal preference. There is no right or wrong here. I have seen beautiful cakes made with both. But today, I chose sugar.
